Long ago, there was a great Exodus. Men fled from Earth through a magical portal, searching for a safe haven from a relentless darkness that infected the very mind and soul. With these people fled the many myths of the world. Among the many peoples were Elves and werewolves, and these peoples carried with them the secrets of magic. Such legends were henceforth lost to Earth forevermore.
But these refugees found a new home on the other side of the portal. Called affectionately “Kab”, the massive world of beautiful landscapes and far-stretching oceans began as a paradise.
But the darkness followed them despite the best efforts of the ancient Demigods.
The Fallen Seven Demigods, formerly the Seven Princes of Hell, are poised to dominate the entire world after tens of thousands of years in preparation. Peoples and cultures are divided by borders and religion, separated by hatred when the only hope of survival is to unite. As things stand, civilization stands ready to be consumed by the barbarian millions of the Black Army, who are pledged to serve the Fallen Seven.
In the North, the First Continent of Talis is in turmoil. The Dwarves fight the horrors of the Shadow Conglomerate, an organization of vampires and their kin, deep within their dark mines and tunnels. Meanwhile, the corrupt High Church calls a Crusade against the League of Magic, an organization of virtuous Mages who serve and protect their fellow man. Now, an army of genocide stands ready to exterminate the world’s best chance for victory against the darkness.
But there is hope.
In the distant land of Cathdara, Kab’s equal of the Mediterranean, four magic-wielders are bound by fate and coincidence while in search of the world’s best hope for deliverance the legendary Kaimenius Prax the Ultimate, said to be the fabled Archon whose task is to guide and protect the persecuted.
Many have tried and failed to find the Archon, but now four curious individuals are close Jusin Tanas, a War Mage of unquenched mind and incredible strength; Dao Yin’Rah, an ancient being of mysterious origin; Char, a power-hungry, ruthless Fallen Mage; and a last, unexpected ally whose gaze alone could petrify the strongest warrior.
Commissioned jointly by a desperate League of Magic that finds itself under siege, and a leaderless Cathdaran Empire composed of Hellenistic peoples, these four allies of convenience will have to set aside their differences to prevail where so many have failed.
The legend of Kaimenius Prax speaks of a being that was morality incarnate, and immeasurable in the power of magic... though it also tells of his fall into darkness just before his curious disappearance. Now, as the search begins, one question remains. Will this unknown variable save creation from evil... or unleash it in an even more unimaginable scale?

The characters, as well as the plot, were intricately and beautifully developed (especially Kaimenius, Char, and the Gorgon ^.^ .) For me it was a page turner, as there were some very interesting plot twists that took me by surprise. For that reason, I will be re-reading just to revel in my enlightenment. The battle scenes were incredible and so well-orchestrated (whether they were 1 v 1 or massive armies in battle), that you can't help but play them out in your mind as you read. I was consistently impressed throughout the book to say the least. I've also noticed that the author integrates many ancient historical/cultural aspects and references into the plot/character development which makes it all the more interesting to me (especially the latin language references lol.) There are definitely cliffhangers at the end that (in my opinion) warrant a sequel, so don't expect all loose ends to be tied by the end of the book. I thoroughly enjoyed the book; my review does it no justice. This one is a keeper, and I would love to see more from this author.
